Before booking the journey

Istanbul has two major international airports on different sides of the city: Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen. Confirm the exact airport, facility address and transfer route before booking. Journey times vary with traffic, so leave generous time for appointments.

Ask the facility how you will reach your accommodation after treatment and whether you need an accompanying adult or an accessible vehicle. Verify arrangements directly; Panorama does not currently operate transfers or bookings.

Choosing accommodation

Consider proximity to the treating facility, step-free access, a lift, quiet surroundings, the ability to extend your stay and a companion's needs. Ask who can assist outside reception hours and what the cancellation terms are.

Discuss the minimum planned stay and required checks with your treating team; do not rely on a fixed hotel itinerary as a medical clearance to fly.

Explore at the right time

If your health and schedule allow, you might explore Istanbul before treatment. Visiting landmarks or taking a city tour immediately after surgery may be inappropriate; NHS advice stresses rest rather than sightseeing following cosmetic surgery. Check any activity with your clinician.

Emergency and practical details

For an immediate emergency in Türkiye, call 112 and ask for an ambulance. Save your facility's address, the emergency contact from the treating team and your insurer's assistance number. Review current official travel guidance before departure.
